Just went and imported a Ph2 V6 from Japan of all places - bit rough round the edges but thats what I was after to be honest so I had the free run to throw money at it and know it was the right car when done, currently in garage at the moment with engine out, full service in process with not a single stone unturned while its out.

Wheels away for refurb with 4 new P-Zero fitted,

Next week in to paint shop to get every stone chip and scuff dealt with

I honestly can spend the dough quick enough to get this thing on the road

Congrats on your purchase Stuart :approve:. Being from Japan is it RHD or LHD, given the preference for some in Japan to get interesting cars like the Vee as LHD to add to their "rareness" factor? Is it badged as a Lutecia rather than Clio?

its LHD - was originally registered in France and exported to Japan at some point, it is badged as clio cos its french. does anybody have good suggestions for certain spares for them? As i mentioned I want it to be mint so dont want to leave anything that needs attention

will post some pics soon

Sorry Stu,

All my spare parts are for RHD.

; )

Congratulations on your acquisition. Look forward to the pics.

Hi Stuart, wecolme. sounds like a interesting car. Look forward to hearing/seeing more about it!

spares is hard to advise, any v6 specific parts or parts in really tidy nick are worth picking up. However, anything rare and valuable is already rare and valuable!

To be fair one of the things I am looking for is a front grill, the one in centre on bumper. which can be from LHD or RHD

update is, its been serviced, had the little sweats fixed, booked in to be fully pained on the 16th of July

Grilles were available from RPD but are about £150, send Paul a message to see if he still has one or can source one :approve:

I think it's probably only the headlights and dash that differ between RHD and LHD...

There was only of Ebay very recently - but seems to have gone.

Try RPD or else post in 'Wanted' and see if the Wombles are willing to part with their hoardings.

the door cards are also the wrong way round,

also if any of you have had the unfortunate circumstance of having to replace the boot lid struts........everybody have a seat and take a deep breath........£300!!!!!! A SIDE !!!!!!!!!!

Panic not Stu - I believe there's a Bmw part which does the job perfectly well at a fraction of the cost.

You just need to find the information hidden in V6Clio.net

: )

i used the sgs engineering 1 the day i found out the cost of the originals, i had planned on getting them regassed but they do them new also, and yes from what i see the trophy ones are the same 1s

One of my mates built an Ultima and found a great site for gas struts where you choose length and springiness so at £300 a side (HAHAHA) i'd be trawling through there....looks like some of the "normal" Clio folks have sorted us out though!
