No.1557 2004 ph1 230

New Member
I'm selling my beloved toy due to personal reasons.

It is a 2004 ph1 v6 (230bhp) ref.(EU04 DFF)

It has been painted in the colours of codony sport no.24 race car that raced a few years back in the Clio v6 trophy series. It's not a like for like paint scheme. There are a few changes but that's how I wanted it. I'm the second owner from new.

The car has 92k on the clock. Although this appears to be kms not miles. As in my Skoda it’s 22 miles to work. In the vee it’s clocking up a fraction over 35 on the clock.
I've owned it for over 10yrs
It was on 18k when I purchased it.

It is due a cambelt service.
Always garaged and only used in the summer. Or cold crisp dry sunny winter mornings.
Car has be started and run up to temperature regularly when not being used.

The car has

Trophy v6 ducktail spoiler.
Trophy v6 front spoiler. (Carbon fibre)
Trophy v6 sidepods
Cromodora 18" wheels (magnesium) 1 has had a repair and was crack tested, but has since started to show a small leak on one of the repairs
Nrg carbon fibre fixed seats. Wear to drivers seat bolster
Original seats still in loft so can go with car.
Half rollcage (bolt in) by safely devices.
Trs 4point harnesses
Flocked engine covers and dashboard top
Twr decat down pipes (still runs 2 cats)
Carbon fibre air box
Quicksilver sport backbox
Cutout rear bumper
Mot due soon but will be MOT’d.

Recently had an oil change with filters
Also gearbox oil was changed using elf oils

It would benefit from a major service. I had the tracking done end of last year but something feels a little off to me. They failed to make any adjustments to the rear suspension track rods as were seized up and I didn’t want them to shear off until replacements had been sourced

I've a lot of good memories with this car.
From mas do clos in France to monthlery. Reims to Le Mans. Blackpool to Lymm. Lakes to Scotland. Met so good friends too along the way. Had some laughs.

I'm based in mid Norfolk. Not far from Norwich.

Price. ??!!

I don't have a clue on how to value it.

Im open to sensible offers. £15,250 ovno
taking into account that it could do with a service
Private plate not included
As some may know health has been on the cards over the last couple of years hence lack of meets I’ve attended. I’ve not advertised it elsewhere as to be truthful I really don’t want to sell it.

Stunning car, nice homage. Not everyone's cup of tea, i personally love it, but my preferences aside @ £15,500 it's way too cheap!.

Someone best buy it quick ,its gone up £2250 overnight

He must have sobered up!

It's a job to put a figure on it. It's a little bit different. It's not a low mileage collectors piece. It's a used example that started as a daily drive and now spends most of its life tucked away in the garage. There was a ph1 on eBay that had 99k on the clock sold today for £13,100. The market is so varied.

£17,250 is still too cheap (imho). If you parted out just the trophy bits inc croms, seats, rollcage & backbox that would easily be £5k, leaves £12,250 for the rest.

How'd you prepare the centre console for respray?, a full rub down?, if so what was used?. Need to redo mine due to a couple of scratches however the coating feels like a weird rubberised coating like my door grips which I did with 200grit wet 'n' dry.

I feel sorry for any one selling ,how do you value a car ?. Everyone wants as much as they can get the buyer wants it as cheap as poss and the ones for sale usually have a price between 15k and 30k , i dread the day i want to sell .

Pricing standard cars is easy theres a general framework-

Pricing modified cars is very difficult as it narrows the market generally.. some mods adding value- some detracting..
Im glad Only sell standard stuff!

I dissagree. Its very easy to sell any car. Just let it go for what you are happy to see it go down the road for and not a penny less. Do it for less and you will kick yourself forever more. How many people sell these at cheap, knock down prices only to heavily regret it after.

I think the advert needs to be written in a different light tbh Stevo. To the uninitiated - it could look like a high mileage, badly stickered-up mess.

I'd have a gratuitous shot of the V6 Trophy on which it's based, followed by 1 or 2 nice pictures of yours.

The narrative needs to reflect how you've gone to task to recreate a road version. A celebration really.

On the other hand - I'd be delighted if you kept it!!!

Thanks kett. I'm not that good at writing adverts tbh. I'll have a think about it over the weekend. See what I can do.
