Have a read and pm me guys / girls - this is from capital seating.

Hi Kevin,

4 x Sportster CS seats (all trim options except Leather) = £3000

6 x Sportster CS seats (all trim options except Leather) = £4400

4 x Sport Trendline seats (all trim options except Leather) = £2350

6 x Sport Trendline seats (all trim options except Leather) = £3400

2 x Sportster CS seats (all trim options except Leather) + 2 x Sport Trendline seats (all trim options except Leather) = £2700

4 x Sportster CS seats (all trim options except Leather) + 2 x Sport Trendline seats (all trim options except Leather) = £4100

2 x Sportster CS seats (all trim options except Leather) + 4 x Sport Trendline seats (all trim options except Leather) = £3800

Baseframes:- baseframes always remain at a fixed price as there is very little margin on these items, so all the discounts have been applied to the seats. A pair of baseframes for a Renault Clio 2005 will be £180.

Delivery:- delivery will be £20 for every pair of seats ordered, i.e. each customer of the group buy will pay only £20, even if the items are shipped to different addresses.

All prices include VAT.

If you are interested in prices for the leather options I will be happy to provide them, but you can safely assume that the price of each pair of seats will increase by roughly £400 for a full leather option. We also run a trim shop here if any of you were interested in supplying your own material for upholstery. Pictures of all of the factory trims options are available from the following two links:

Sportster CS = http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=484&region=5&L=2

Sport Trendline = http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=430&region=5&L=2

If you require any price breakdowns, particularly fro the offers of both Sportster and Trendline packages, I will be happy to supply them as the Sportster CS seat is more expensive that the Trendline.

Please let me know if you require any additional information and I will be happy to help you

kevin, im sure you have put a wee bit of work into getting those prices but the link above shows you can get 2 sporsters for 1495 INCLUDING frames and resistors!!

no point in the group buy scheme unless capital seating are willing to budge a bit!!!!!????

The link isnt working?

If its cheaper on ebay I will point this out to them tmrw and see what they can offer. Already emailed him tonight as I didnt think the discount was 'great' - I just want to get seats now so any discount is welcome

The Trendlines in my car cost me £350 quid plus subframes (apperox £50) plus fabricating and fitting - which I did myself. A few others have gone the aftermarket seat route using Trendline seats from cars such as Evo's, Honda's etc. A pair of Recaro Trendlines averages about £350 from these cars with subframes from Recaro being around £110 each or you can use a pair of Cobra or Sparco frames for a Clio Mk2 (from around £50 - usually on e-bay) ...

If you want new, then you have to pay the price - but also Trophy seats come up on e-bay from time to time, these will be around £800 per pair on e-bay including subframes - so you have some other choices perhaps ...

Fitting Aftermarket Seats

kevin the link should be working now mate!

martin - the only problem with buying ex 197 sporsters is the issue with bolster wear, this has resulted in loads of warranty claims, this isnt the issue when you buy the seats from recaro as they have used a different material! (renault trying to cut costs again maybe??? lol)

Ian

Some figures for comparison.

I ordered x2 Sportster CS's from Capital Seating 3 weeks ago, seats cost £1576.37, runners cost £186.77.
Total = £1763.14

As for the OEM 197 seats Ian, they dont fit a Vee, I've been down that route.

Thanks that is a good comparison so looks like if someone else comes in with me for a CS sportsters thats a saving of £76 each - I know not massive but better than nothing!

If a 3rd person comes in then thats a bigger saving.

I was thinking more the Trophy Trendlines which are a good fit in the Vee ... These seem to wear well ... I understand the 197 sportsters are a hard fit due to some form of integrated subframe :-(

Oh also SIM have you recd your seats yet? Whats the wait like at the mo?

Not yet mate, Joe Beales at Capital Seating said 3-4 weeks, so fingers crossed next week, I'll post on the forum when I get them. :approve:

sorry martin, yes your right the trophy trendlines are a good fit, and a good seat, if a bit uncomfotable after a long journey, or was that the sachs suspension in my old trophy!!?? lol

kevin, why dont you just order them from ebay? immediate delivery aswell i think!

Hi Ian

Im going to contact Capital in the morning - as it does work out cheaper on ebay?!!! However im guessing these are going to be through an order and will take time also.

Recaro seats are made to order, there will definitely be a wait of some sort with the eBay seats, the reason I went with Capital Seating was because I've dealt with them before and find their customer services to be spot on.

Right they offered 2 pairs now at £2900 - so another £100 saving. However have just sent him the ebay link and asked if they could do better.

Sit tight lets see what they come up with.

In the meantime to get an idea of numbers please could you post here or pm me - if there are no takers I will just order on ebay through them.
