Have just ordered a set of Toyos T1R being delivered and fitted on Saturday. Have been reading through lots of threads about load ratings, alignment, tracking etc - should i be getting this all done as well now?

Will the load ratings be the same as the Michelines?

Is it going to make a big difference that i have Michelin fornts on?

Cheers in advance.

Just out of interest, where are you getting your tyres fitted? I need new tyres and would like to get my brakes done too but don't know where to go?

Cheers,
Phil.

Got them from e tyres. It's all online and then they come to your house to fit them for you. All prices include fitting - my Toyo's were £162 each all in.

Hopefully this isn't too bad a price?

Great price I think.

What are these tyres like does anyone know? i.e., with regards to the Michelin ones? I assume they're Z-Rated?

Are there any similar people that will do brakes on a mobile service?

Cheers,
Phil.

Have just had the tyres put on so going for a burn later. The guy that fitted them rated them better than the Michelins, softer so much more traction, grip, feel etc (well according to him anyway). Would recommend etyres, was so easy and conveneient and i think a pretty decent price.

The guy has given me some discount voucehrs, if you do end up ordering through etyres put the code PL21 in the code box you should get a discount (i think).

I ned to now also get some new pads as well so will prob try and get that done next week.

Any recommendations?

Sounds great! Could you let me know how you get on with the new tyres as I'm getting some fitted next weekend too?

I'm going back to Mintex pads I think. I love my Carbon Lorraine pads but they're just too messy RE brake dust. What are Ferrodo/EBCs like?

Cheers,
Phil.

What do you mean by Z rated?

When you say Z rated, do you mean the speed index? If so these are Y rated i think, but it shouldn't make any difference, does it? These are the ones on the K-Tech website.

Where do you get your pads from and roughly how much?

Cheers.

The Michelin Pilot Sports are Z-Rated (yes the speed index).

I bought the Mintex pads from K-Tec. £130 all in I think.

Are you sure the Toyos are Y-Rated?

Phil.

I'll check for you when i get home tonight. Am assuming they're Y rated as that is what is says on the etyres website and also on the KTech website.

The tyres seem good, my only issue is i now think i need to get the tracking/alignment checked as the car feels a bit strange at higher speeds and also under braking form higher speeds.

Does it make much difference if the tyre is Y or Z rated? In terms of Y this covers you upto 186 mph. Now i know ther blue ones are quicker than the other colours but I don't think quite that quick!!

I got a bit confused by the e tyres site. The Michelin Pilot tyres say Y rated (on the tyre code), but these are the same as the tyres on my Vee at the moment which are definitely Z rated!!

:s

I'm going to call them and ask them a few questions!
