New purchase Carl s car

MarkW

New Member
Hi all , my names Mark , and I've just purchased Carls car , having looked at several over last few weeks inc Steve s black phase 2 , which was a very close runner and lovely car but carls car in the end was just too good and a credit to his attention to detail , and the time effort and money lavished on it , and work carried on the car by Scott at SG , whom I haven't as yet met but who seems to be praised from all involved in the v6 world
Quick rundown of myself , loved cars since 17 , 1st car mini 1275 GT then many various since , always loved the look of the V6 so thought why not !! Look forward to attending some of your club meets etc , I'm based in Dorchester , Dorset , so no 218 has certainly lived all over the country it's a 3rd car for me so like probably a lot of you will be used on Sunnydays and holidays, it was a somewhat wet n windy drive from birmingham yday but absolutely enjoyed every mile , I'm sure you all know the feeling , many thanks to Carl and wish him all the best
And look forward to meeting some of you in the near future MarkW

I'm glad you made it back safely. A long journey is poor conditions.

Hopefully your wife is still talking to you. She did not seem too happy having to drive the fully loaded van all the way back without a rear view mirror.

Make sure you attend Origine RS next year, and get the car on track :race:

Thanks will do , yep it was fun esp familiarising yourself with a new car , but all good tho did have to stay behind her in the camper so couldn't fully open up the Vee , but she was fine bless her , had to take her out for nice meal and drinks that night !! But she does get to drive the cars if she wants , so some conciliation
For her !

Congratulations on your purchase Mark.
Carl is a 'no-nonsense / get it improved' kind of guy. Your new Vee benefitted from some very desirable upgrades.
You're not a million miles from SGM either - so you've landed on your feet!
: )

Welcome Mark, and well done on the new car.

Im sure you know already you have bought a good one there!

Welcome Mark. You will have a lot of fun with that car, and I think that you may have picked up a bit of a bargain with all those superb mods. What are your plans for the car? I only got into Vees a year ago and am now thoroughly besotted with them, which has come as a bit of a surprise. I've spent many years with classics, and just seen 'modern' cars as a means of (comfy) transport. But the Vee seems to combine the fun of the classics with the reliability and convenience of a modern, and a whole lot more.

And the ride is nowhere near as choppy as a Mini!

Mark

Evening Chaps , thanks for the welcome , as said always admired the v6 and with being in the position to get one , I just couldn't resist , I think they truly are an iconic car , those of you who know or have met Carl know his attention to detail , and as said the time effort and upgrades lavished on that car are immense , really no expense spared , and having kept , bubble wrapped , boxed and numbered every piece of original equipment the car can be reversed to standard quite easily , tho i will keep the car as it is , in my view all the upgrades really do enhance the overall drive and look of the car , and obviously all work completed by the "legendary " Scott , who on chatting to him for advice before purchasing couldn't praise Carl and the car enough , I just intend to enjoy both driving and detailing it , in sunny weather of course , bonus in Dorset as we do get some nice weather at times, I'm also a member of PCGB , as have a 997 manual gen 1 turbo , quite a different animal , but truly I think jumping in the Vee will put a bigger smile on my face , testament indeed to these wonderful cars , again thanks from one very chuffed newbie V6 owner
