New Bonhams MPH auction at Bicester has a LY Clio V6

Bonhams have launched a new sub brand to cater for cheaper cars than the fancy expensive cars in their regular auctions and are based at Bicester Heritage.
The first auction is 26th September and they are advertising a trio of Renault Hot hatches including a liquid yellow V6. can't tell the reg from the picture.
any ideas ? Duncan

With an estimate of £35 - 50000.

A shame they have assumed the year, incorrectly, from the "private" number plate.

That car was put in auction about a year or two ago. From memory it is a one owner car, about 40-50k miles, belts done by SGM just before it was put into that auction, paint work scruffy, lived outside most of its life in London. It didn’t sell. Hopefully it does better this time around

Does £35-50k estimates for less than mint cars help the overall value of the marque? Especially when they don’t sell or make their over optimistic estimate? A case of a room full of people (not forgetting the internet) witnessing a car not selling and thinking the model in general is obviously not worth that much money. Will these “lesser” auctions attract a different clientele too. People with shall I say less disposable cash to throw at a £35k rare hothatch on a whim.

ah yes the "expertly lit" S999 that has generally rough paintwork from living outdoors and being driven in the city all its life. Hopefully they learnt from last time when it didn't sell and have given it a couple of days paint correction.
In which case it will easily get £30 to £35k if a couple of people want it.
The listing has been updated to 2006 model.

Seems to be in the Bonhams MPH September Auction 26 Sep 2019.

My guess by then it will be worth £25K (as it’s a bright colour)

Surely it will get to £30k+ being LY even if it’s a bit tatty ?

I don’t think the colours are dictating the prices as much as they used to or people think. Even for mint ones.

And? Don’t leave us hanging [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

Well let's just say I opted to save 10 grand and get a far better example in beautiful illiad blue. At the time I was keen on a LY car but purely for investment's sake. As has been said I think the premium paid for the rarer colours is a bit excessive. Condition and history much more important IMO. If its the car I saw then it needs a fair bit of paintwork, engine bay tidy up, wheels tidy up, interior tidy up. I estimated at least 10k to get it right so with a price tag of £35k (reduced from 40k) it just wasn't making sense.
