New BC Dampers.

Just received my new DC Coilovers.
Worryingly the carton states Phase 1. I stated I had a phase 2 when I ordered them. Anyone know if there is a difference. No point stripping the car to find out they are wrong...

I don't think there is any difference. I think the only small thing maybe on the rear shock where a drop link for an anti roll bar can be attatched. I know that's the case with kw's anyway.

On a side note, I have still yet to hear any feed back regarding these coilovers.

Hope this is the case. I've got them clarifying the matter at the moment.
I couldn't justify the budget for KWs and getting mine rebuilt isn't an option as I need the vee for work.
If they do end up fitting I'll report back on them.
One thing I noted is that they state "Off road use only"

They are no Ohlins, but then again they aren't Ohlins priced.
We'll see how they are once [if] they are fitted.

Incidentally. I'm looking at trying to get some bodies made up to accept Bilstein rally inserts. These are a known quantity and aren't massively expensive. What do you think to the idea?

Cheers

Speaking of which, anoyone got pics of the fronts with the wheel off. I seem to remember a tab coming off the front damper for the ARB but there isn't one on these. Ideally want to check before taking things apart.

Nope - I was right. The ARB drop-link connects to a tab which is missing on the BC Dampers. They will probably fit, but the ARB certainly will not.

Is said road near Chernobyl??? ;)

Actually in fairness, i was thinking yesterday...My Vee is 10years old this year!

Be careful when you get round to removing the drop-links as they can be a pain !

Fitted KW's on the front last time I was home and had/have a few issues.........not with the KW's but with all the Renault stuff that's associated, drop-links, top-mounts.

I made sure I used genuine Renault Nuts & Bolts etc etc.

Anyway, I'll be tackling the rears in another week when I'm home, just need to workout how you remove the Covers that surround the Engine Covers.

Any tips would be great............ ;)

Cheers,
Hoogi

Heard back from BC Racing.
I informed them that the dampers were incorrect fitment for the phase 2. Initially it was agreed that I was going to measure them up and change the CAD so they could produce a phase 2 variant. It now turns out that they want the units sent over to the far east for an undetermined period of time to jig them. Sod that.

I'm off to speak with GAZ shocks at lunch, as they are just down the road from me. Lets see what they have to say.

We may have an alternative supplier comin up soon :)

I'll keep you posted

I was going to buy these for my ph1 as buy a new unit from Reno was silly money, but in the end Scott turned up trumps for me so didn't bother, but I'm sure the ph1 are totally different to the ph2, as I had chance of a new set for a ph2 but the guy I was buying from had an old ph1 sat in his shed and sat them side by side and said, sorry there different on the new ones to my ph1 shocks , good look would like to no what these are like in us
