Need Help!!!

Hello fellow 21ers,

Need some help. Ive had my "G" Reg phase 2 21t since new, Always been a pleasure to drive. It only has 82k miles on the clock but recently the years have started to catch up with it. Couple of months back it started cutting out under boost (sudden loss of boost at 4k rpm). This happened 4/5 times in a space of a week. I Then thought to park the car up and not use it till I?d get it sorted.
Went to fire it up 2 weeks back, Started, but not running on all cylinders was very rough.
I took her down to the garage. After a couple of days investigation, they came back to me saying it needed a new head gasket. The car won?t start now. Water leaking on the plugs.
So..... Im wondering, does anyone know any specialist that work with these older gen Renaults??? want to bring her back to her youthful self!!

Might help to know where you are in the world. There are loads of members alone, each will have suppliers and methods.

It's about a days work to sort that out. The head will need skimming so expect it to be way for about a week. If I get the parts I can do it for about 400 quid. Thats using Renault parts. I might be able to do it cheaper using o.e spec parts. Price includes new valve stem seals and cam seals in the head. Also new belts. If you want me to do some extras I.e water pump I can for the price of the parts.

My suggestion would be Andy Rabson. He is in Stevenage and is very good. But not sure if he would have the time at the moment due to a new addition in his family.

I'm based near Liverpool. So that's not really a helpful.

Dave Sibley is nearer, he is in coventry. Andy Rabson can also help he is in stevenage. Both of these people know Renault 21's inside out. The only issue will be getting the car to them.

I'm in High Wycombe so not a million miles from you. There is a place in Slough that is highly recommended for engine working; this is the place where I will be sending my next engine.

To be honest I don't have the time at the moment, getting it up Dave's wont cost more that ?80 with a transport company. And Dave will be much cheaper than any company to do a headgasket
