Clio N/s inner cv boot/bearing

The bearing on the daily clio dci inner driveshaft cv boot has started leaking gearbox oil and needs changing.

Will this come off the driveshaft without too much hassle for renewal once the spider joint is off or should i just bin it for another shaft ? I dont want to waste good money attempting to fix it and then having to buy a shaft anyway. I assume its interference/press fit (i have a ten ton press in the garage so thata not an issue:D)

This the NS one? Get an exchange shaft mate. The OS one i'd bash a stretch boot on it.
 
Yes N/S inner that bolts to the box with the bearing. Annoyingly the boot is fine and the bearing is leaking. Might just bosh a shaft in to save time off the road to be honest. Needs to be done sharpish or i will be in trouble if it drips oil when our block paved drive is done:D
 
I've replaced that same boot on my old R11T shaft, I just held the shaft in the vice and tapped the bearing/boot down onto the shaft with a hammer and a bit of pipe. There's a shallow taper on the shaft which a thin flange on the inner race sort of stretches onto to form a seal iirc. Definitely didn't require any kind of press although I don't doubt that will be the way the workshop manuals tell you to do it.
