Have now fitted 6 new Valeo Coils from GSF and it's running spot on :approve:
Decided to change them all as didn't want to be chasing coils every couple of months, 5 out of the 6 fitted were Sagem & and then this Delphi one:
I also noticed when removing the coils that one was particularly hot so I suspect that was the failed coil - it would be interesting to see if anyone else has come across this also.
Some gratuitous naked engine shots (and an excuse to try out the camera on my Galaxy SIII):
Removing the inlet manifold was actually fairly straightforward - a little time consuming but not too bad on the whole.
Also fitted some new parcel shelf speakers:
Just Sony Xplods that I had from a previous car...nothing spectacular but much improved over standard. I bought adapters off eBay for a couple of quid which made them a direct fit so just plug and play.
Bilberry Wheel Cleaner
Meguiars Shampoo
Dodo Juice Clay Bar
Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care
Autoglym Bumper Care
Tesco Glass Cleaner
Autoglym Glass Polish
Autoglym Paint Renovator
Poor Boys White Diamond ( )
Dodo Juice Hardcandy Wax
Pictures are a little dark but the shine on the paintwork is fantastic - first time I've been able to give it a proper clean/detail and it's come up brilliantly, very pleased
Would particularly recommend White Diamond - so easy to use.
Yes completely agree, exhaust is letting the side down a bit. I should have a Phase 2 exhaust in my possession shortly - so planning to clean that up and fit it when time permits.
Todays efforts involved applying a second layer of Dodo Juice Hard Candy Wax and fitting this:
Possibly a little on the large size (2kg) but should it ever need to be used then the more the better. Passenger seat moves back and forwards and clears it no problem.
I was undecided between fitting it under the seat or on the parcel shelf...opted for under the seat as it was easier to fit and also less intrusive.
It would be rude not to start it without a rear silencer, sounded brutal  :
Back together:
Whilst the rear bumper was off I took the opportunity to respray the mesh black, looks much better now! Also cleaned up various parts from behind the rear bumper.
Rear lights haven't yet been refitted as I'm waiting for a new set of rear bumper nuts/bolts as the original ones are past their best! Will hopefully get these in time for the Pistonheads Sunday Service at Silverstone next weekend... :race:
