MK2 Rear Lights...

Ashy B

New Member
Im having a right game changing my Mk1 rear lights to the MK2 lights.... on my right wiring plug I have different colours to what is mentioned on the how to guide,

The left side colours are the same as the guide but im not sure if that is the correct way either now seeing as I can't get both sides to work with each other!

Has anybody else fitted MK2 lights but had different wiring colours to the how to guide in the knowledge base?

Any help would be appreiciated!

hi mate,i had a similer problem when i did mine ,but i just had 1 or 2 odd colours and matched them up with what i thought was the only option and they all worked fine ,i think a lot of it is guess work and common sense especially if your using the guide as i was :race:

I've sorted it all now matey thanks, tryed guessing them without a tester and someone in the front switching all the lights on thats why it was a pig... I was a little impatient really :ihatepcs: was a piece of p*ss when my cousin bought my tester back to me!! 8)

Just out of interest is your motor an 51 plate? As they may well of had different looms in to the later models, I only had ONE wire that matched the how to guide on the right side connection plug!!

FAO JAMES....

Matey I've took a picture of my connection plug for the right side with the correct colour positions if you want to add that to the how to guide incase another member has the same issues i had with all the wire colours diferent to the current how to guide,

Just let me know if you would like it and ill send it along to you! :approve:

Hi Ash,

Please send me pics to [email protected] and I'll get them added to that guide. The guide was borrowed from a guy on Cliosport so it was likely made for changing over ph 1 and ph 2 172's.

I've looked into the rear looms for a very early ph 1 Vee, that has one part number for a complete loom.
The later 2002 ph 1 Vee has many different bits of the loom available. Models with the large taildoor Renault Diamond (pre ph 2)
