Will be intersting to see how much this goes for with no reserve.
The owner metions a clutch problem, but i would also look at the gearbox!
also no mention of cambelt etc... but if hes a Ford technician i suspect its all done.

I find it strange that the seller has chosen not to rectify this "Slight" clutch issue despite being a car mechanic. Maybe he knows that the repair is likely to be expensive and/or involved??? Clutch trouble at 32,000 miles also suggests some "spirited" driving.

Not a good sign when a mechanic hasnt fixed a serious problem on his own car. Especially when it's worth 13-14k at a time where he has lost his job & you would of thought getting the most money for the car would be important.

A new/replacement box, clutch & labour could be done for about 2k (if you can find a box!) so if it's sub 10 grand (&hpi clear) it could be a bargain for someone.

Clutch/box is engine out job so cambelt isn't to much of a worry, as could do that whilst the engine is out for another few hundred.

im sure brett got his box out with out removing engine on subframe maybe a bit harder but if you dont have a car lift could be done.

Yeah was no fuss at all to change the box. Did it one evening using large axle stands. Few hours and it was done. If the belts needed attention it would be pointless to do it that way though.

I bet its nowt to do with the clutch... how about the cambelt's not been done and it's decided to let go?!?

I'd be wanting to start this car up and have a wee drive/listen to it before parting with any cash, even if its a smallish amount!

Is there an average lifetime for V6 mk 2 clutches? are there any novel tips on detecting a worn one apart from the obvious high bite point and mild crunch selecting lower gears?

I wouldnt want to risk my cash on a car never driven... cars like these dont need ebay - if someone wants one they will travel to find it.

seller says cambelt done @24k miles. But even if its available for £10k and hpi clear there are less risky cars out there?
