Mk11 Alloy Wheels

Im getting my wheels refurbed, not because they have been kerbed but because the paint looks pants and I want to give them a fresh new look.

What I cant work out because of the current condition of them is that is there a different finish on the face of the alloy than that of the inside of the alloy spoke?

Cheers

Also was considering changing the colour to in a light anthracite colour, opinions please (bearing in mind mine is a acid yell)?

Prob best leaving them the standard colour, not 100% though.

There is quite a few owners who have gone down this road already.

Anthracite / gun metal finish looks the mutts nuts. However it comes down to personal preference. If you want to keep the car standard or something even more special than the acid.

Some owners have done the side pods to match which looks really good too.

cheers Steve, i was thinking about re-sell as well (haha ive only had it a few days)

I dont want to personlise it to much that will depriciate the value or put peps of wanting it or even worse make it look bad.

Ive seen a few photos of the blue and silver vees with gun metal gray wheels and i must say they look awesome, not quite sure though if it will work with AY, photoshop job could be a good idea.

I reckon it would look absolutely stunning with acid yellow. Do it!!!

Have a look at this first mate:

Cant make my mind up TBH.

Nice 1 mossy,

Not feeling that look at all, although they look like a matt black finish as apposed to gun metal gray or such colour which would probably look nicer.

I think ill stick with my plain silver1s that way no regrets.

Yeah probably agree with you mate. As Steve said this colour combination can
look awesome on some cars and not on others!

Tapias,

The reason for this is that the outer face of the wheel is masked up and sprayed with the finishing colour whilst the inside of wheel rim is left with some form of base coat. This is the OEM finish and typically what most wheel refurbs will be done like.

If you have a powder coat finish rather than a sprayed finish then the whole wheel will be done with the tyre off and so there would be no distinction.
