Mk1 Washer Motor

TOM 00001

I have lost front & rear screen wash and have just replaced the motor but this has not fixed the problem.I have checked the fuse box but all is fine there as well.Anybody have any ideas to fix this problem? I am wondering if there is a relay associated with the washer motor or a fuse i have missed under the bonnet. The motor is not spinning so a loss of power seems to be the problem. Please help as the road conditions are not suited to having no screen wash at the moment !

Annoyingly I've just lost mine in the last week too! Was spraying slower and slower, and now nothing comes out. My motor does at least run, but nothing comes out front or rear! I spent a bit of time trying to get the scuttle panel off at the weekend, but it was cold and I couldn't crack the interesting challenge that is getting off the washer arm despite reading various comments on how to do it [smilie=icon_redface.gif].

Clearly of no help to you Phil ... other than pointing out that it's a common problem area on Clios!

I fixed this on mine as the pump was weak e..g noise but no spray..

The plastic panel covering the washer pump i.e. the scuttle has plastic clips on the right side.

You push the middle of the clip and this pops out then the washer pump can be pulled out from underneath e.g. you do not have to take off the washer arm.

Don't forget to re-use the rubber washer on the pump nozzle at bottom of the pump that seals the pump into the bottle otherwise all the water will leak out.
