I have PS3 at the front and PS4 at the rear. Don't know if they now make the PS4 for the front wheels now, but they didn't do it a year ago when I bought mine.
I would recommend you go for PS3 or PS4. They are considered a really good tire.
Don't know if anyone have ever had a bad word against the PS range?
Hi,
I have recently had PS4s fitted to my Phase 2 Vee. I have only done 40 miles on them on a nice warn day so have not yet had time to properly get a feel for the new tyres. I can say that they felt much more compliant and planted than the original (2004 made) rubber that has been on my car for all its 14,000 miles.
I have PS3s fitted to the family "pool car" - a Skoda Octavia VRS Mk1. These were fitted after a recommendation by my elder son who takes part in Autosolos and Road Rallies. He found that PS3s were appreciably better than anything else he had used in wet conditions. They are not long lasting but I agree with Haydn's assessment of their wet road performance.
Haven't had PS4s on the Vee as yet, but will definitely go for them when the Pilot Super Sports that are currently on are at end of their life. The MPSS on the Vee has been through many fast road trips and a few track day sessions at Goodwood (Origine RS). The PS4s are an improvement on the MPSS - Here's the post I made when I was looking into the replacement for MPSS: PS4
As stated, I do have the PS4's on the S2000. Dry weather performance is superb, but haven't driven it in the wet enough to have an opinion as yet. The early-model S2000s are particularly sensitive to sidewall stiffness (i.e. important to reduce snap/roll oversteer), which make owner's go for the likes of Yokohama AD08Rs. Now many are switching to the PS4's as it has better grip in the wet, so more suitable for road use. The AD08Rs however would still be the choice of rubber if one is doing more track miles than on the road, due to its stickiness in the dry.
Thats great guys! Thanks for the replies. I've seen them recently at Costco for what I don't think is a bad price. These will be for both mine and Blakes car whilst on typical road duties. Both cars will be pretty potent so will be fitting track specific wheels and tyres for anything out of the ordinary.
Asda Tyres have these for £152 each but there is a 10% code - stick 1401234567 in the ASDA Key box on checkout. Makes it £273 for a pair of these or £259 for a pair of 215/40R18's. :approve:
Seems like inflation has taken hold - here is what I paid for a set in May 2016.......

Question is how old these are (i.e. how long these have been sitting on the shelf/warehouse). The tyres fitted to the S2000 above were manufactured in Feb 2016.
