Metal number badges??

Had a nosey inside another vee at the weekend, and i noticed the number plaque in the middle was like a rubber type one, i thought they only came as a metal piece :s

All 230's came into the UK with a metal plaque from the factory.

The 255's were the same, however.. the metal plaque's were removed at the import centres by Renault UK and replaced with the plastic type that you've seen. These plastic ones were numbered for the UK only. For example "Type UK No.123", from 001 to 354.

Because of this, some of the numbers are duplicated between the UK and the continent.
