just questions i have about the engine conversion, ive looked back through loads of info on pages on the site and when i think i have it sussed out i find another post from someone sayin something wont work. there is a megane 2ltr engine at the local breakers . i would like to put this engine into my valver. questions i have are :
1) am i right in thinking i can use the valver head on the 2 ltr bottom end? if so ,does it just need a ordinary valver head gasket?
2)can i use the 1.8 gearbox and flywheel on the 2ltr engine? or will i leave on the 2ltr flywheel and just use a valver clutch?
3) will the 1.8 throttle body kit be ok to use on this engine then?. was planning on getting the head ports done and a cam and leave it at that on the head. would it be safe for me to have a go at porting the head myself or would i end up doing terrible damage? is it hard to do? would love to have a go at doing it myself. i will be putting some kind of engine management into it too. was thinking mbe or omex as they seem to be reasonably priced .
if anyone can give me any advise it would be appreciated. ive taken engines out and apart before for a friend whos a mechanic , but never put them back together myself. would i be able to do it myself or is it a daft idea?
