Megane Megane 225 questions

Just debating whether to buy a Megane 225, I've seen an 05 blue Megane on EBay and at a glance for 2K it doesn't seem too bad. I'd like to have it purely as a toy, a 3rd car, stripped out, 1 bucket seat, track it when I have the free money.

So, if I did buy it I'd go a bit PMT, l'd spend no more than 1K on it for mods. PMT as in are there any homebrew mods that could be done to it geometry setup wise etc

In my head with 1K
Cooksport Springs
Remap
Bucket seat with 4 point harness
Refresh of OE suspension, tired parts?

What else?

Ok not really fussed if this sells but am moving house and will be in the way
Side mounted think it's a small/ medium the back has marks but could be painted couple of small tears on rear of seat nothing really no marks on front of seat
The seat owes me £275 I can pack it up for someone to sort a collection

Mr Tim Finch (Carlise Based official UK Sabelt Distrobuter) usually has them both new and or used...

In the clio circles he's very well regarded for this type of thing -

Has anyone fitted polycarbonate windows in a Megane 225? Front and or rear.

With the ACW ones you can just bond them - but the rear screen isn't moulded, so its meant to be a right PITA - and a two man job to get it to bond.

You can rivet them as well..

The Plastics4performance do a fully moulded rear - but they are like double the cost of the ACW kit.

I think the total saving from the rear 3 windows and wiper blade is in the 5.5Kg region.

[I've not got them fitted yet, its been a 50:50 radar item for some months for me ]

That's the only thing with 'modern' cars they're not fitted in the rubbers. I'm a practical person but can't imagine my skills stretching to bonding the rear quarters in. The fronts I imagine sit in-between like the glass items but fixed in the up 'closed' position permanently.

great bit of kit bc racing, very well made, if they were a complete rear coilover i would of kept mine for the clio
