Manual rack conversion

Ok what parts do i need?

How hard is it to do?

I have changed one before but not swapped from PAS to manual?
Do i need to swap the colum as well?

how do i remove the pump from the engine also, do i just remove it them replace the belt?

Any help tis great.

:)

not done this but i believe you can get all the parts from volvo....

easy enough to do..yes you need to change the column

think it just runs a shorter belt and pump is no longer required unless you can get hold of a cup type idler that they fitted in place of the pump..

not sure on the numbers but could be found in a scrap yard.

You'll need both the column and rack as the column is 5cm shorter on the power steering cars.

you can use just the UJ section, saves chanign the whole column.

how easy is that to do? a few people have suggested over on cs that i may just be able to put the manual rack in as mines is originally an rt. Do the Rt and the 16v use the same columns?
