may look great on the car for those who have been luchy enough to get a set.

had my rear wheels off yesterday.

one of the rims is cracked in 3 places on the inside edge. of the rim.
its been in the garage all winter so i suspect this happened last summer.

good news being.

theres an engineering company near york that can repair the wheels.

spoke to them this morning. seem good lads..

i'll let you know how we get on soon

I see this quite regular with bikes, particularly trackday stuff where its driven to the limit without the money being spent as with a true race vehicle, remember , race cars and bikes the wheels are removed and checked after most meetings, if not for anyting else but to change the tyres, check your wheels!

yes i realise race cars etc are stripped down after races and that the wheels were for that purpose. as i say its the first time i'd got the car outof the garage and first job was to re seal the rear calipers and fit new pads. lucky i didn't go driving about.. could of been a bit of a mess

Stevo, have a chat with Simon ;)
He's got a wealth of knowledge regarding magnesium wheels and some good contacts for repair etc
Hope you get them sorted ASAP pal :approve:

All good up here pal just need to find some time to get out in vee LOL
Reminds me better go and check for cracks as croms are off car at minute.

The guy i have used for years, but not recenttly so dont know if he is still going

Ian Jemison enginerring

01904 703863 near York can weld mag wheels, also straightens wheels, changes PCD's etc.

lol, thanks steve,james.

thats who i had a good chat with this morning, based just up near york, he assures me it not a major porblem and that he can fix it..

i'll be taking it up there in a week or so so i can drop the wheel in.

I've used Ian Jemison on two occassions when I was racing my 1969 Mini Cooper S in the modified saloon car series quite a few years ago. He did a superb job on some genuine magnesium minilies. Not only sorting out a couple of cracks, but also making the wheels look like brand new. I can thoroughly recomend him.

Surprised none of the folk with Mags have have the pcd altered, seeing as they don't fit the car properly!
