Apologies if this is in another thread, I thought there used to be a dedicated place for these posts but not sure I am eligible to see them!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2504348.htm

Was up for 24k, thought to myself I could be intrested at some point for 19k, just recently its been reduced to 19.5.
Presumably a well known car around these parts? Perhaps not if its been in storage for so long. If so any info, pics?

Thanks,

Matt

P.S Hello everyone, long time lurker, love your motors.

Hi Matt,

welcome to the club mate.
1 of 4 Lunars in the UK, this one is number 260. Really nice car.
Pic below. Loads of info when you join as a member on buying etc.

Thanks Matt,

Theres a really good feel to this forum, I spend some time on Pistonheads and you can get some odd replies at times.
Truthfully its a bit too early to buy a Vee but we attended the Pistonheads Sunday Service at mini where we had a look at a lovely lunar grey, very unique colour. I was wondering at the time if any would come up for sale with there only being 4 around.

I have never really had a proper look around a v6, only at car events etc... would love to go for a ride in one.

If anyone goes to the PH events we are usually there with a 997 turbo S, a DB9 volante, a regular 997 Turbo and possibly a 430 I'm sure we could arrange a ride in either in exchange!

Looking forward to participating more as time goes on.

M

That will have been Janelle's lunar I think as she attended the Pistonheads meet.
Awesome colour - bit like marmite though but I love it. If you have the cash I'd snap one up now as I definately know of 2 owners who will never ever sell their lunar on here!
Where you from mate?
We have plenty of meets so I'm sure you could pop to one and have a look round one and a ride to see what they are like.

Cheers guys,

I'm based mostly in Herts/beds/bucks (Just outside of Berkhamsted), also spend a day or two a week in Greenwich.

I did once have a breif chat with a guy in the carpark of last years Goodwood festival of speed.
Middle aged, chinese chap with an Illiad blue Phase 2, he'd had it since new... hello if your on here :salut:

I keep an eye on meets but so far have'nt managed to spot one I can make.

Matt

This car has got your name all over it Colin, get it bought mate :approve:

I'm quite interested in this car - I made the mistake of selling my black/gold a week ago and now regret it - so am keen to replace it asap !

I've e-mailed the seller and am awaiting some details from him - however if anyone can offer an opinion on the following I'd be grateful

1. How detrimental is it for a V6 to be stored/parked for three years ? I'm thinking flat spots on tyres / fluids needing changing / etc
2. The belt service on this car hasn't yet been carried out - presumably it was due a year or so ago ( i.e 2005 car) again would this be considered be be a major detriment to the car ?
3. Whilst I appreciate Lunar Grey is something of an acquired taste and obviously very rare, I've not seen one "in the flesh" and the photographs I've seen tend to illustrate it as different shades dependent on the light the photo was taken in - any opinions on colour ?
4. Can anyone give an (approximate) indication of cost for belt change/service/fluids etc ?

Thank you

Before you purchase: I'm not sure it would be significantly more satisfying to own than your previous Vee, so ponder wisely.
Realistically, you'd need to budget £1.5k for the service... but the tyres and brake discs would need damn close inspection too.
The delay in cambelt replacement is academic, as long as it hasn't broken.
Lunar is a superb colour in the sunlight, but certainly not everyone's 'cup of tea'. Given there are only 4 -not everyone would have the chance of owning one anyway! Get's my vote..

Hi all
I was very nearly ready to buy this Lunar grey from Keith nearly 18months ago, before I bought my aussie vee

the last thing I did was one of your english motor registery reports ..... there was a question over outstanding finance due to a company claiming monies owed ...all this was previous of Keiths ownership .... just I needed clear title to export the car ...

I left that to be cleared up with keith but didnt hear back ....

mind you .... great car ... great colour ... and Keith is a caterham owner as well .... so he is OK in my books .....

now ..... as per OZBird .... I am thinking 2 vee's is a good idea .......too many Blue vee's here in OZ
