London Mini Meet October 13th 2013 (Sunday)

Phase 1, best 172! I'm always up for a challenge [smilie=yay.gif]

Just in a matter of interest Matt, how long do you think we'll all wait at St James Sq? Only ask, just in case some are stuck in traffic.

Well, we have a great list of people willing to meet up for a chat, a few other halfs sound like they are also coming if anyone was worried the enthusiast (Nerd) factor would scare them away.

It is an early enough meeting time to go out afterwards which makes the journey easier to justify.

I will occupy myself all night in London so I will be happy to stay as long as others are willing to, certainly if someone is close and stuck in traffic. I can imagine people will come and go as they wish, if we get a good bulk of cars down together it would be great. I also wondered if a small loop along the mall was in order, just to show off.... ;)

Thankyou

Matt

Wow what a turnout!! At least 11 people I have not met on the list!! We should do more London meets seems to get out a lot of people who don't venture on out meets. Now this could be an absolute quality meet! With so many vees in attendance London won't know what's hit it!! Whenever I go into London I get plenty of attention, thumbs up from Lambo drivers, kid at the news stand opposite Big Ben asking the vee's stats and that's alone! Add another 10 vees and I think we will stop the pedestrians wherever we go!! With so many of us could be a good night out afterwards!!

Yeah this could be big. Cruise through Knightsbridge on the 458 strip post Mall!

Gotta go down Sloane Street use the back roads and do it all again!! Or as I like to do race around Belgrave Square past all the embassys!! Round and round we go!! 458s step aside!!

Charles 2nd street just down from Piccadilly Circus. Plenty of room for 10 or so cars waiting and its very quiet. Gives you the chance for some epic photos going past the tv's and back down to Trafalgar sq. Could then take a slow drive down The Mall up to Buckingham Palace, up to Hyde Park corner, up and back down Park Lane to take in the supercar sights of the Dorchester hotel, back down Picadilly heading for the Embankment opposite the Millenium wheel, up to Big Ben and around Paliament square to double back down Embankment, carry on to Tower Bridge, cross Tower Bridge, turn right up to Druid street and then immediate left into Roper lane. This will give you the opportunity to turn around and go back over Tower Bridge to then head on to Canary Warf.......breath......been a while since I last did it but there are always good photo opportunities on that route. I'd usually do it slightly different but it would be no good with a load of vee's following a leader. Just wish I could join.

Blimey [smilie=icon_eek.gif] ...see you at the Black Prince.

You can lead the way!

Looking forward to seeing that 172 perform :race:

I'll be meeting Pete at the Black Prince, so see you there Acid :approve:

I feel a cruise around some of the London sights is a must, certainly will cause a stir!

See you there guys :salut:

Great,

I will contact all that have shown intrest tomorrow.

This will confirm time and place a map, and a potential route for a drive as so many people seem to like that idea.

Looking forward to seeing the cars and the owners they bring with them ;)

This is only a suggestion...

carry on to Tower Bridge, cross Tower Bridge, turn right up to Druid street

Assuming you haven't already eaten and/or are getting hungry at this point of the journey.

If you cross Tower Bridge and turn left (into Jamaica Road) and go 2 miles / 10mins up the road you could pop in and take a quick look at some cars and then go for something to eat here:

http://www.flaminggrillpubs.com/

Massive, massive car park. Loads of space and you can see your cars are safe through the window from the table. There is one none V6 friendly speed hump on the entrance to the car park which has to be taken very slowly. Ours has only recently opened so is not listed on the website but the menu is the same.

You are then ideally situated for onwards travel to Canary Wharf for a night time shoot, either back over Tower Bridge, or through the Rotherhithe tunnel and Limehouse link tunnels where you can make losts of noise (If you can manage the width restriction). Or carry on to Greenwich take in the Cutty Sark and back to Canary Wharf via the Blackwall tunnel (if it is open northbound).

Seems like a great idea........there is also an offer on at the moment - 25% off food (only). Guess the new outlet will also have this offer on. One needs to download and print of a voucher and hand it over before placing the order.
