Loltus Exige

I think I am on the OEM expansion vessel. If you recall, mine failed and was fixed by RSTuning.

I have now ordered a metal replacement as the OEM one from Lotus is £250+VAT.
The denso unit that was borrowed from Lotus is NLA.

Should be here before the end of the week.

Just the gearbox to worry about when this is replaced.

Fitted said vessel tonight. Not 100% happy with one of the clips, so I’ll get a jubilee clip for it as well.

You probably are right. Especially with new ones being just shy of a grand.

I know it’s been cracked and repaired though so I would hate to sell something scabby.

Just been out in the lotus to return a non fitting windscreen wiper and all appears to be fine. Got stuck in some stop/start traffic for around 15 minutes and temps went upto 96deg C. Literally after getting into some clear, moving air they dropped down to 92 and then 88degC.
I did a short ( 4mi ) blast on the motorway and they went further down to 87degC which was sustained until the end of the run.

No leaks, so all appear to be good.

Just for my reference cos I forget EVERY time what tyre sizes I currently have.

F: 195 50 16 84V / 205 / 45 / 16 for AD08R
R: 225 45 17 94Y

Can run 205 50 16 on front AD08R

96deg, is that normal expected temps on this engine? I know the fan kicks in higher on the n/a vx220 engine so may be normal ;) I used to do a 2nd bleed after a good run wherever changing rads, header tank etc :)

To be honest I dont know. Never ever had it stuck in traffic etc! It dropped quickly so I guess so! :)

I tend to pressure bleed now but either raised header tank, blow in it or use a bit of the heat to force air out works also ;)

Dont overlook the rad hose bleed nipple, assuming the same as vx setup when doing the above :) although friend needed to blow.....sure there is hidden innuendo there lol

Ha! :)

Just run it almost upto temp and bled it out a little via the rear bleed nipple. I am happy its as bled as it should be now.

Temps were stable and where they were last time so all good.

Getting parts ready for a service next month now. Doing

Oil
Filter
Airfilter
Gearbox oil
Brake fluid
plugs

Then Ill get some new tyres. AD08R look good but Ill have to run 205 on the fronts..

Paranoia I think!
Its its first service with me and while I have the history of the car in a file it makes sense to change everything at once. I know its good then ! :)

Really enjoying the fact that I am not worrying about the car self destructing at any moment.

Took it out for a beasting this lunch and temps were stable.

Great to have dry roads again.

I have been testing the pads and can confirm they are
a) very good
b) very squeaky / squeal lots
c) force water from the washer reservoir out so it squirts onto my windscreen without the stalk being pulled.

Happy with that.

Full service ( plugs / oil / filter / air filter / brake fluid / gearbox fluid ) booked in @RSTuning next month. Gone for everything for peace of mind.

Which pads did you go for? I used to run some carbone lorrain rc5+ and limit of nice and safe from cold upto epic on track with limited noise / rattle (with anti rattle gel lol)
