The rear stop light on the exige has bugged me for a bit. It had a crack in the lens. Fortunately I have been informed of the cross refence part. Its from a Saab 9-3 - and the convertible one fits for sure!

I found one on ebay for £24 ( used ) so took the plunge.

Someone has been here before me. I noted that nyloc nuts ( hardware not lotus group ) had been used and a nut was extremely tight. The other not so bad. I assembled a 10mm deep socket onto several extensions so I could start undoing. Eventually I managed to crack the nut off and removed the existing cracked lens.

You can just about make out one of the nuts that done up to 250nm or bastard tight as its also known

Light fitted and working. Eldest son has come in handy for testing here.



I am going to adjust the bloody fiddly gasket a bit another day. Its better than the old one but not perfect.

Wheel refurb company called this afternoon so off I popped to collect my straightened , freshly done alloy.

Coated it with some minty stuff and fitted to the exige

Off I went to SeriouslyLotus today for the cars service.

It had ;
Oil
Oil filter
Gearbox fluid
Brake fluid
Alignment

It needs ;

4 new boots

Car almost in rude health and loved driving it. Never gets old the supercharger whine.

I did have my head turned by a very yellow, very nice Emira. What a fantastic car that is. Its like the s2 got middle aged. It bigger, its not as nimble but it makes the right sort of sounds.

Id consider one for sure.

926kgs last time I weighed it. Lost a few more kilos though with some other lighter bits.
