Liquid yellow with 39k £15,900

Did this guy buy the car from Nev? if so he hasn't owned it long, Nevs car was for sale back in May/June last year when I bought mine, in fact I considered viewing it as he lives 10 mins from me. I remember reading in his advert that the car had been front ended at some point.

If it was an accident on a trackday chances are the damage / repairs were never reported to the insurance company & it probably comes up as hpi clear on reports.

i am the current owner of this car that is for sale, needless to say and i am gutted by the news of this!!
at no point did Nev ever mention to me about this, i even have in writting when i asked had this car ever had any previous damage, dents or scrapes, and he replied NO!
he didnt even mention to me before travelling all the way over to get the car that the front bumper had even been repaired due to hitting a fox, i only found this out because i read through all of the receipts and there was one from the dealer for repairs to the front bumper. the only thing he warned me about where stone chips along the front which is why i got it repaired when i brought the car back home. thankfully i have everything stated in Private messages and email from him
i have spent a lot of money and time on this car since i bought it,i have had many many cars from a 600 bhp AMS evo(french blue), 350Z, Astra VXR, E92 bmw etc etc and never would i have thought that i would have come across an act like this on an enthususiasts forum selling this car and not being truthful!
i love my cars and have taking great care of every one of them, have professional photoshoots done on them and this is one i though was a great add on to my collection!.
i still think i have this up at areasonable price considering i paid a lot more for it off him and i have taking excessive care of it! i cant fault this car one bit and i am open to any inspections or questions about it, please have some respect but feel free to discuss further, any help would be appreciated.

just to add, i have spoken to Nev reagrding this now, he has been helpfull and has said this cant be the same car.
only damage this car ever had was from hitting a fox which only cracked the front bumper, (receipt to show repair available)
also told me he will come online to set things straight, much to my relief i hope this will make sense,
in addition: i also had this car inpected after i bought it by a renault dealer to have a small patch of corrosion repaired on the underside of the bonnet through warranty. when they checked it over before getting confirmation to repair it from renault UK they were able to say it was the original bonnet and hadnt originalllly been repaired so either.
really hope this proves not to be the same car mentioned

Just on my mobile so apologies for spelling etc. Yep i can confirm whilst i had the car it never saw a track day or had any front end damage other than the fox. I tried to pm rick on a number of occasions to find out more about the history of the car before i had it with no joy so i couldnt find out anything conclusive before me.

Both images have what appear to be the letters 'S I R' written on the front panel, and even the way the metal has been contorted looks the same.

The original owner rick is on passionford, a quick search reveals his username is cossierick who works at a bodyshop in yorkshire. A pm to him could clear things up?

i would be very fussy about a car and gave this a good check over as well as an HPI check, hope that if anyone else in genuinely interested in this it wont put them off ( if its the same car!), its a perfect example now and im in no doubt as clean as another vee with half the mileage, it cost me a lot more to buy even before spending more on it having it sitting perfect.
I'm sure that we can all imagine how we would feel if it was our car that had an unexpected history, pretty gutted. Most of us would also prefer to know about this at the decision making process time to factor in whether to proceed with the purchase, or not.
ColinG's experience above relating to not having too much of a problem selling his car with some minor damage which was repaired is re-assuring.
In my opinion just looking at the current photos and the service work that's been done, this is still an excellent opportunity for someone who really wants a Liquid Yellow and who's intending to hang onto it for a while. At some stage the Vee will stop depreciating and surely will start appreciating. Liquid Yellows have consistently retained their value best of the Phase 2 colours at the top of the pile. A couple of posts refer to deciding against buying this car when in Nev's ownership due to it having a high mileage compared to most Vees, yet below average for more normal day to day cars based on age and 10,000 miles per annum. If the next buyer only does a couple of 1,000 miles per annum and keeps it in its current condition, then its eventually going to be a bargain. You either want one of these cars and particularly in that colour, or you don't. Personally, if it is this car that was damaged and the repair work has been done to a standard that is very difficult to fault, I think it's just the mileage that is more off putting. But then the price is probably significantly cheaper than that of Steve's Liquid Yellow which appears to have been sold. The only main differences seem to be the Speedster Recaros and 25,000 miles. I doubt if having regular updates in Evo magazine would add anything to the value.
There are only 17 Liquid Yellows now in the UK. The one in Australia's got a long and expensive journey to return here. It looks like the calipers have also been done since Nev's ownership.
So, to me (and only based on the condition photos and service history), I'd say to be patient and someone with a long term view will come along.

The damage on the car looks worse because all the panels are off it. The actual damage to the frame underneath the cosmetic bits really isnt that excessive. Wo ever did the repair managed to get the bumper to line up way better than many of the vee's that are out there..
Still a great car at a great price.

i have looked at vees with half the milage and with all honestly can vouch for mine now being in the same if not better condition.
no stone chips, no wear, great service history, in need of nothing but i might be forced to drop a little more off the price
im seriusly thinking of removing the bumper and trim to see the repair work for myself, after having another look around the car there is nothing at all visable.
panels line up perfectly, all plastics in there exact place, no overspray, dirt in paint or signs of anything being straightened.

The previous damage (if it is that car) certainly didnt put me off "very nearly" buying it from nev in april 2011.... as i said it was just alex's mars red ticked more of the boxes i was looking for in my 3rd vee....
it was literally down to a quick decision and a phone call either way, as i couldnt choose otherwise
