Is it worth putting one on with the 285 cam and gt2560r turbo????

Read a couple of articles and have mixed opinions. What's your thoughts?

I personally found the engine to be a lot more responsive. It spun up quicker.

the only thing it didnt do was when lifting off the throttle it didnt run on as long. I didnt find that an issue though.

I would get it as light as possible just because you can. @Brigsy has a drastically weight reduced flywheel IIRC.
 
Heavier flywheel = Smoother engine but less responsive, easier to "drive" with.

Lighter flywheel = Lumpier, revs drop faster off throttle due to less stored rotational energy, easier to stall. Better throttle response.

It's whatever trade off you are prepared to make. Ask @la21t who tried my super-light billet aluminium flywheel after I re-upgraded and took it back out again because the slow moving driveability was tosh (he lives in London mind).
 
Hmmmmm I dont know that I noticed a 'greater' throttle response but I added the flywheel at the same time as the cam and headwork.

However based on how awful it was in traffic, I'm going back to lightened standard one. I'd gotten mine down to 5.5kg before fitting Daves one, which is about 1kg over the alloy one.


I described it as like driving a diesel with a shagged DMF.
 
Morning guys,

Spoke to CTM and they said they can do a 5 slot lighten for £180+vat. They also said they can also do a 9 Slot for £250+vat.

@Clarkey i didn't ask about group buys. Thought I'd leave this up to you seen as though you know them :friends.gif:
 
Did he say what weight each is? I think mine is 9 slot but cant remember 100%. Bought it back in the 'Msm' days about ten years ago £180 ish from memory
