La Vie en Bleu - Prescott 29th May

Williams

New Member
We did this as a meet and drive a couple of years ago, which seemed to go down well. I was unable to attend last year, but I know a couple of you guys still went.

So who's up for it this year?? Any thoughts as to meeting near to Oxford perhaps.. convoy over to Prescott and arrive en-mass? Always good to make an entrance ;)

Nice one Dave! Better start a list in the first post! :)

As Stephen will no doubt be organising this as an RAOC event, I'l be liaising with him regards tickets etc. More news as it un-folds peeps!!

100% Yes. Was a cracking day last time I went. Great drive too!

Will we beable to do a "slow" parade run?

Why the parade run? Why not compete in the event itself?

Anyone can enter, all they need is a non race competion licence, race suit, proper helmet and gloves and a timing strut on the car. Its a fun event with no pressure so a good introduction to hillclimbing.

Anyone interested in competing there, or any other sprint event, let me know and I will give you further information.

If your not able to do prescott then, we are also competing at Crystal Palace on the Monday of the same weekend, another high profile event with lots of spectators, entries for that one needs to be sorted soon so if you are interested then get started now.

Not a bad idea to be fair. Where would one get a non race licenc from Mark and what height does the timing strut need to be? [smilie=thanks.gif]

apply for the licence using the form here You need "non race national B" and is £39.00. no medical needed!
Once you get a licence you get a copy of the blue book which has all the dimensions for the strutt, basicly it needs have its lowest point between 180mm-200mm from the ground and be at least 254mm high from that point and be mounted at the further most point of the car, using a number plate mounting screw may be the best point on the vee or mount it on the towing eye. Also need a sticker around the ignition key pointing the "off" direction.

Nice one Mark. How would I enter my car into this particular event should I want to run it up there?

I think Mr Dell might have some special forms which include some free enty tickets, will let you know when we have them.

Free entry tickets dont appear to have materialised sadly.

Entry as follows for one day ticket only:-
On the gate £18
Advance: £15
Advance RAOC member: £12.50

Will post up details of how to purchase tickets ASAP!

Although this is a weekend event, our particular meet will just be on the Sunday. I'm looking at decent places to meet up, so we can have a nice drive in convoy on our way there and arrive as a group as our previous visit. Last time we met in Oxford, which is fine if thats what people want to do, though I felt the route we took had far too much traffic on it so I'm looking for a change. It'll be a fairly early start, but not crack of dawn - Goodwood Breakfast Club early ;)
Any suggestions for the route, please fire away! :approve:

It was already pencilled into my diary just not posted up on here! You can add me on Shaun :) What a great weekend with tickets for the Champions League Final on the sat unless someone wants my ticket for 4 grand :)

Nice one Nas!! Its a great event, this one. Plenty to watch.. wander around.. and see some hill climbing!

Re football ticket.. I wouldn't give you £4, unless I was allowed to sell it on.

This is the weekend before fcs and I really should be doing some detailing :violin: ... but was such a good day out last year I wouldn't want to miss it!

So count me in but to meet up there.

Brilliant!! Be great to catch-up with you :)

House hunting has ruined all of the early meets for me :(

Still got FCS to look forward to mind [smilie=yay.gif]

meet at oxford services head down a40 past windrush heights {derelict new hotel} head down to roundabout near birdlip then off to prescott through gloucester. if my brain serves me right :salut:

Does sound like a good day out.

It's a 3 hour journey for me to get there though and that's if I stick on a motorway. Would have to add another hour if was gonna venture on some A roads.

Not sure if me old back could take an 8 hour round trip in the Vee seats in one day.

What's your plans, Nas?
