The KWs are different for Ph1 and Ph 2 cars, the height adjustment is different on both cars.

...which creates it's own issues for any group buy I guess.

Not at all... both Ktec and K300 in Manchester said it made no difference on a group buy.

Im still waiting for a price back from K300, but I doubt it will be much of an improvement on Ktecs price tbh

Can the front not be adjusted to suit a rear end drop?
It is not likely that the front can be adjusted in that way. Only on racing cars where all the components of suspention and steering are adjustable can this be done correctly. I have seen adjustable top mounts that go some way to resolve the problems but they are not a perfect fix.

Nigel.

So are we saying what's done to the back has to be done to the front as well? Inch lower on the front would not make mr front splitter a happy chappy!!!

maybe i shall e-mail H&R and see if they would be interested in making another batch of theirs?

surely they must still have the technical information to make another few sets?

I would be surprised if they will make another batch.
I also asked at H&R some month ago and they told me, that they built the coilovers in past for ELIA and that they haven´t got parts availiable to make some new sets :-(
I asked then at Elia and they sent me an offer for a KW coilover.

..so lets hope I´m wrong

Intrax do them but at £3k a set id rather go down the KW route....Cant see how they can be so expensive tbqfh

I spoke direct to KW today, just waiting for a price back from them.

K300 have still not come back to me, chased them up today, but they seem a bit slack.

So far K-Tec have been the best in terms of getting back to me.

Just waiting on some news but may have something exciting to say soon. Watch this space! [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

Ok. Ive been speaking with the guys over at BC Racing Who? I hear you say...that was my first thought too, but they do alot of suspension parts for the Jap and Yank cars plus set ups for some of the UK and Euro motorsports companys.

They do a full coilover kit for the Clio V6 and its considerably cheaper than the other rivals. The kit does look a quality item and Ive been reading alot of reviews from the Scooby, Evo, 350z and Bimmer boys, all of which are positive.

Price of full kit - £699 !!!!!!!

Unless someone knows something about BC that I dont :approve:

Hummmmmm!! Might be worth a look, it's basically £1000 cheaper, H&R used to be £800 so not far behind where they were...

But on the other hand, they could end up being detrimental to the handling, we need someone to be brave an try a set

Hummm...Who knows what they are like on the clio...like colin says, someone needs to bite the bullet and try! I think they're renound as "Entry Level" coils...Much like FK's?!

Good price that :approve: . Quality dependant though obviously.

Right. Stupid hat on. What makes a coilover good and what makes a coilover bad? And is there any way of finding these things out other than putting a set on?

If they are fixed damping which I think they are, they could be very stiff, and on a Vee that could be bad! It's skittish enough as it,

Also if they aren't zinc? Coated they can rust on the threads and seize up with the crud and salt on the roads
