Kimbolton General Spamming

I drive through Kimbolton most mornings on the way to work. One thing id say in case people dont know, is that the petrol station in Kimbolton is the most expensive in the entire area and charges about 10->15p more per litre than anywhere else. I assume its because Kimbolton is quite an expensive place to live and nearly every other household has a brand new Range Rover Sport - so the locals arnt short of money and so the garage owner see`s an opportunity to make some money.

So just a heads up really to make sure you fill up elsewhere and dont end up short on fuel in Kimbolton! :)

EDIT: For those people staying in St Neots, theres a big Tescos there, so cheap petrol.

Thank you for the info.

Is there a (good) Shell garage anywhere close?

Depends on which way you come into Kimbolton. Theres one on the a14/a605 junction at Thrapston, one on the A6 near Sharnbrook and one at Buckdon on the A1. Ive used all 3 and not had any problems.

Oh, and if you are coming on the A45/A6 past Rushden / Higham Ferrars, theres 2 there - ones Croyland motors and the other is the Waitrose one which was Waitrose petrol but is now Shell. These ones are about 10minutes drive away, so handy if your coming from the M6 / M1 direction towards Kimbolton. Very often the sat nav will take you A45 or A6 to Rushden, then down the B645 to Kimbolton.

As a side note, the B645 is an awesome bit of road, and goes all the way from Rushden down to St Neots - loads of bends and a few nice straights. Certainly good for a ride out.

Excellent, thank you. I will be coming up the A1(M) the previous evening, and staying over near St. Neots, so looks like I will hit the B645 on the way to Kimbolton in the morning :)

Will text you in a bit.

The answer to your second question is; who knows! :(
Thanks. That is a bummer!

I would say no!! Hopefully I am wrong!! I will be at Goodwood FOS on the saturday and then up to Jon's that afternoon/evening. You can meet his 'real' other half!

Are you not coming in your vee Jon?

If not, we need to know so we can offer your space to another member.

Was thinking of doing the same Nas (i.e. visit Goodwood first). Shall play it by ear, but need to decide soon so that I can organise tickets for Goodwood - 50th Anniversary of the 911 is my driving factor for Goodwood this year.
