Tim can you put a link up to the threads with problems by any chance? Ah found some; interesting really in so far they kind of what I suspected; as alluded to below these are not a road part, they're not fit and forget parts - if you want them be aware you're taking on some additional maitenance. I'm not sure about the comments regarding them moving around but I'd not be surprised if the lack of any kind of installation guide has lead to some "interesting" installation procedures...

The K-Tec ones are from Compbrake if they're not annodised. Quality seems to be fine but be wary about what you're doing by putting solid top mounts on - they're not really a "road" part as such and you may find that there is some degradation of the ride quality of the car.

Also be aware that they will not last as long as the OEM part; they use a bearing which will wear out fortunately it's secured in place as a separate component so is "field replaceable" assuming you have big enough cir-clip pliers!
