Just Changed Insurance Companies.....

Elephant wanted £620 for renewal with £450 excess (£250 + £200 voluntary). So I did the usual shop about via the internet and phone. Auto Direct came out the cheapest at £388 with the same excess as Elephant, but I've reduced the excess (removed the voluntary part) and so got it for £437 with just a £250 standard excess. Pretty pleased really, I was expecting to get it a little cheaper this year, but not that cheap!

Any way thought i'd share my good fortune with you all, never know they might be able to re-insure other vees at a sensible rate too.

Iv just tryed elephant and they want £1700 I dont no what im doing wrong. Tesco wants £4400 with £2200 excess. hahaha. normally the cheapest aswel. I am 25 with 7 years no claims. 1 sp30 and 1 crash which wasnt my fault. 1stquote were cheapest so far at £1016 but still expensive. must be were I live or something (North east). has any1 else got any ideas of who to try next. sick of lloking now and all the compaison websites are miles out.

I'm 24 in the North East ish (Scarborough but rural) and paying a lot less than those quotes - 3 years NCD here. There is a website somewhere that lists the different postcodes and their insurance groupings. Newcastle is one of the worst in the country if you're there?

thanks just tryed them £672. thats more like it. How are they £1000 cheaper than anyone else.

What a bargain. They are giving me protected no-claims for no extra charge aswel.

Here's the model I'm guessing most companies use....the website has quite a bit of information as to what effects your premuims as well
