Janspeed sport cats

Thinking of going down this route, wanted to know if people who have them fitted have trouble with emissions at mot time or are they just about legal 2 pass? As i really dont want to keep messing about with it 1ce its setup.

Steve, I have them fitted to my car and have been assured that they will pass an MOT. However I have not needed to check the emissions at this moment.
The only problem I have found is that the emisions light eventually comes on.
Incidently I have 100CPI cats fitted.

Hi,

I've got the full system from janspeed and have recently done my MOT (the dutch one but is quite narrow) even with more than 50% burned cat interiors passed fine. (has done over 70000 km with the sportcats)

Got the full janspeed with sport cat manifolds and went through the mot no trouble. Engine light is on since fitting though but runs sweet enough.

Did you notice much of a gain in performance and noise when replacing the standard cat with the sport one?

I went from the standard manifolds and cats with a ktec box to full janspeed with sports cats. Noisier when hard on the gas for sure. Very raspy sound t it. Pulls better from about 4700 rpm onwards and happier to rev. A few small flatspots so really needs re-mapping to get the best out of it.
Not keen on the slash cut tails though.
Not a 'while you wait' to fit either!

My 255 has the full Janspeed manifold back jobby wth sports cats...fitted by K-Tech when they did other work (Evo Viper/ECU remap and K&W coilovers).

The emissions light came on after a couple of hundred miles, when I got stuck in a traffic jam so I had it re-set by Renault dealer. It then came on again 50 miles later...

Engine runs perfectly, just have an orange light on the dash...K-Tech suggest blanking off the second lamda sensor....Will discuss with the dealer when it goes in for a service (only done 4k so far so a little way off)...
