IS YOUR CLIO V6 MAKING A TICKING/SQUEEKING NOISE FROM COLD

Hi all,
for those who dont know on monday my vee went into the local main stealer to have her heart (engine) taken out because of a strange ticking/squeeking that she made when starting from cold which was getting progresivley worse, coming from the rear R/H wheel arch, so it would turn out that the water pump was the source of the noise.

if you think you have a similar problem as many others have posted similer problems then look through the rear right wheel arch where youll see a belt driven by a pully if the noise is coming from there then its likely to be the same problem

Fortunatley my car is still under warrenty so obviousley i did not have to pay what would have been a hefty bill, and luckerly for me because to get the water pump belt off you have to also take off the cam belt i also got me a free early cam belt change :D

I spoke to the mechanic about the problem who seemed to be rarther well informed about the vee , and he said when he took the pump off he could feel when turning it that it did not feel right.
I started her up this morning and the squeek has gone (for now at least)

If any one around the south area has any problems with their vee then I can highley recomend baldocks of wivelsfield they have a mechanic there who has always worked on my car and always done a good job, and has much experience of working on vees also because the engine was out they did me a reduced price service which should have been a rarther expensive £250 ,they reduced it to£150 which considering the air filter was £82 I did not think was a too bad price.

James/Andy perhaps this info should be put in the wikki area

feel free to PM me any questions [smilie=hi.gif]

Good news they sorted it out bud and you must be happy re the cost - guess its also good to know that somebody at that dealer is knowledgeable about the vee - dont think there are many other dealers like that (Certainly not @ mine anyway)

This sounds like the problem I've got with my Vee :( :( I'll have to get it booked in to get checked out :( :( :(

Could the water pump be another generic problem possibly :( :( [smilie=dunno1.gif]

Am I right in thinking you live somwhere near/ in reigate if so they are only about 45-50 mins away (good trafic allowing)

if your dealer is no good might be worth a try [smilie=bom.gif]
