Induction

Hi everyone!

long time no post...I hope you are all well?

For those that remember me will probably be aware my Vee has been off the road a while now. It has undergone a strip down and full rust treatment and rebuild. It will look as new once finished...which is great news because as they say 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder'....well I have absolutely missed the old girl!

I went to visit her earlier this week, and whilst the engine was out I had a good look around and noticed the induction kit has seen better days and will need replacing. :rollseyes:

It currently has a Piper X induction kit...what is available out there and is recommended?

It’s a toss up between:
Standard box with performance filter
Pipercross
BMC CDA

BMC CDA is the better product but needs silicone hoses kit that ColinG recommended on his thread.

Thanks Kett pal, I quite liked my PiperX Viper and would prefer to replace for another. Google isn’t throwing any stock anywhere, anyone know where might be able to source?

How long has your vee been off the road? Who is doing all the work?

Hey up mate! Long time! it’s been off the road since 2016. I SORN’d it when I got the RS3 and wanted to give her a rest as I’d put more miles on than I’d wanted to. However whilst off the road I took her to JWS in Chesterfield. It’s a BMW place in all honesty but the owner is gifted at restoration work and has done some cracking work on some other rare cars and he was up for doing the Vee.

Cut a long story short, he was working on it after hours, moved to bigger premises and we had typical delays etc. However it’s not far off now and the work done does look fantastic and I can’t wait to get in her again!
