Hey

Has anyone gone down this route of N/A tuning for the Clio V6?

Sound would be incredible!!

Jonny

Yozzasport have tried to produce a kit but have not yet got it running due to issues getting an ecu wired into it correctly. Their setup also reverts to cable throttle.

I do know of a Blue Mk1 with a Huger conversion that was homebuilt and has been a little troublesome but supposedly running better now. Was on the K-Tec stand at FCS but wet itself on the floor.........power figures at the wheel weren't that impressive.

Ray's MoTeC driven Mk2 with standard induction peformed better.....250 atw 292 atf.

Mike Sellar has a nice example and competes in British Rallycross Supermodified.

Cool, thanks for that!

So would you say that in terms of how much you would have to spend and the complexity of a ITB set-up, having cams exhaust plenum etc would be the better way to go?

Would like to be above 300hp if I can, do you think thats possible on standard management?

Thanks

Jonny

Not on standard management.
You'd need something more mappable plus uprated injectors as 300bhp is about the limit for the standard ones.
Ray's got there on MoTeC with cams exhaust and some other bits but this is not cheap either......getting to that level will cost lots whichever way you try to approach it.
You need to love this car to want to spend the money needed to get the power up.

Yeah it seems thats the way it is with almost all N/A tuning..

Is there much of a difference between modifying a ph1 to ph2 car, I would be going for the ph2 :D

Ph2 will be cheaper as it is already an improvement on the Mk1.......plenum is the obvious thing.

Chassis and suspension improvements are another bonus.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

Scott at SG Motorsport can alter the cams, full exhaust system with high flow sports cats/manifolds and a MOTEC M600 unit. He claimes 300BHP with these mods alone.....

That seems good gains from doing so little.. the cams and exhaust must be pretty restrictive!

Its a shame that you need to go towards a stand alone ecu to control it.. Would be pretty reasonable if you could get away with the standard item..

Tim is referring to Ray's car as I mentioned. It did used to run on the standard ecu and made 272 atf. When the job was done properly on MoTeC it made 292 atf.

That's the difference and that's what you're paying for.

When you say not cheap could i be cheeky and ask wot kind of figure are you looking at?

Wanna get some kind of idea what its gonna cost me to get some more horses out this babd boy

Wow, pretty drastic really..

Thanks for the info!
