Immobiliser - N reg Laguna

Hello to all on Retro Renault!

And can anyone advise if there is a way around non working plip keys (one packed up and the other finally lost the code)? I've read certain threads about using the central locking button etc but get the impression that only worked on later Lagunas? It happened once before and involved getting the car transported to Renault to reprogramme the keys....

Any advice??

Chris - Many thanks for getting back to me. I take it the procedure is as detailed in the 'Plip Key Re-Synching' guidance in the Tech articles? I did try holding the central locking button down but the ignition just seemed to carry on flashing without interruption? However I will give it another go.

Tried following the guidance but I could have sat there pressing the central locking button all day - makes no difference to the flashing ignition lights. Locking/unlocking just works normally and the lights just continue to flash....... Any advice??

I contacted Renault who again said after checking 'their system' that with my particular Laguna the code can't be entered in that way. When I tried holding down the central locking it made no difference whatsoever to the ignition flashing so even if I had had the code I couldn't have started to enter it.

The guy I spoke to at Renault who I've dealt with before and who I believe was trying to be genuinely helpful, started telling me all about the need for an XR25 and also was trying find a code number from the inside of my plip keys. Needless to say there wasn't one - only the key reorder number was there.

So I'm really not much further forward although he was going to raise a formal technical enquiry through Renault and get back to me.....

that will most likely be pre rolling code then.

That means the throttle pedal is needed to input the code like the old clios.

Your also goign to have to go to renault to get said code unless its written in the book
