Idle Air Control Valve

Couldn't find an appropriate place to post this, so this will have to do.



The IACV (idle air control valve) on many of the 16v engines is the same one used on the Vauxhall 1.8 and 2.0 16v ecotec engines, this is worth knowing because, if you need to replace one, they are £160 at Vaux and around £200 at Renault (approx), but you can get them brand new on ebay in the Vauxhall parts section for around £40.

The MAP sensor is also GM, so too is the EGR valve, it would appear a lot of the fueling and emmision control parts are GM badged. (making them cheaper)

on the other hand, there's no EGR on any old renault afaik...

also the fact that the idle control valve s are totally different on a megane to clio/19 is of no consequence.

The MAP thing is widely known

Also its not so much GM as bosch parts which happen to have a gm stamp on them.

It was a typing error, and has been copied and pasted, I just didn't see the error til it was pointed out, and I can assure you, my Megane F7r 710 has a MAP sensor, an EGR and the same ICV as on the Vauxhall, but if this is only a Clio/19 site, and the Megane isn't covered, fair enough, but I can assure you, the ICV that is pictured in the guide, is ALSO the same as on my engine and the Vauxhall ecotecs.

And yes, whilst they are all Bosch, the point I'm making about them being GM badged, is it makes them easier to source at a lower price.

I've had cars with both engines, and so I know they are the same parts.

Show any of us where we contested the fact the car had a MAP sensor? You said MAF sensor.

Show any of us where we said the F7R 710 doesn't have EGR.

Show any of us where we said the F7R 710 idle speed control valve isn't the same as used in other vehicle applications.

The one 'in the guide' is one of many in many 'guides'

I could probably spend 2/3 years listing parts that are used on other cars like cav rear clusters on TVR's, fiat dizzy components used in cosworths and so on.

so could I, the point I was making was money saving one, what does it matter on here that Metro Cabs use Mk2 Granada Grilles and Mk4 Escort estate rear clusters?

again to pose the questions I asked.

Show me where anyone said that an F7R710 didn't have EGR.

Show me where anyone said that an F7R710 didn't use the same ICV as the vauxhalls.

I never said it was used on Clios or 19's, I pointed out it was the same one as in the guides, I never mentioned a specific engine type either, you did.

that was in reference to the information you were sending to Tom, the parts are different.

unless Tom told you he had an F7R equiped megane.
