How quick does a road car need to be......

Dulan, I’ve recently sent a ‘£100k Garage’ suggestion to Matt Bird at PistonHeads.
This was my ‘lightweight’ pick. Obviously, it was part chosen to balance the books. If Mr Bird publishes my submission, it will obviously get more exposure. You saw it here first!

That's cool Kett - the Zenos does look the part, and seems like a superb performer.

My criteria for a fast road car is that it must have a roof, which may be removable, but it needs to be a solid roof, and be made by a manufacturer with a great heritage (ideally a race-winning history), and finally it must be a bit 'special', relatively rare and/or sought after. I think I have found that particular car now.

Good find! Mr Becker special!

A roof is a good idea on the whole.
Pretty essential where I live. Lol!

Yep, Exige S RGB 260 No.138 of 141 built worldwide (55 in the UK). The Exige RGB's were built between September and December 2010 only - No.138 was registered on 31/12/2010.

In case you haven't seen it already, here is a tribute to Roger Becker: Remembering Roger Becker - the legendary Lotus project engineer

"As a man, Becker was genial to a fault and able to draw upon an entire library of stories from his decades in the business. Most famous was his moment in the spotlight driving a rather famous white Esprit in the Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.

To begin with, his job was simply to deliver the Esprit to Sardinia for filming. But the official stunt driver couldn’t get the most from it, so when the director called for it to be delivered to its next location, Roger drove it up the hill like only Lotus’s finest test driver could, to the evident amazement of director John Glen. He spent the next seven weeks doubling for the other Roger, Roger Moore, in every action scene to feature the car, at least before it turned into a submarine.

When he retired, Lotus produced a small series of ‘Roger Becker Special Edition’ Elises and Exiges, featuring Becker’s favourite specification for each car – a fitting farewell to one of the most important road car engineers of the past 50 years.
