how long will battery last in mk2 before flat ?

Hi,

Just wondered how long it takes to flatten the battery on a mk2 v6 when not driven ?

Usually try to drive it once a week minimum but there maybe times when its sits undriven for a couple of weeks (hasnt happened yet :) )

will probably attach solar power trickle charger to battery to avoid it happening (looks like i'm going to have to drill hole through bulk head as cant find route through at present - anyone know if there is a hole anywhere?)

Ta,
K.

As long as the battery is healthy, 2 weeks shouldn't be a problem. But don't forget if you keep discharging a battery and then charging it, it will reduce the batteries life, so the trickle charger is a very good idea.

I've often left my mk1 for 2 or even 3 weeks without driving it and the battery has always been fine....

The only time I've ever had a problem was when I cracked a bone in my back last year and was unable to drive for 12 weeks. Was flat as a pancake then!!

I have often left my mk2 for up to eight weeks, never charged it and it's never gone flat and still on it's original battery.

I didn't drive my MK2 for about 7 weeks over Xmas/New Year and it was fine (original battery).

Haven't driven it for about 6 weeks now, so hopefully it should be fine!
