High idle

G

Guest

Cars idling at 2200 or 1700 all the time. Not iscv, not road speed sensor.

Only thing it can be is a small blow on the manifold join. But surely this wont make such a difference.

Running right weak and febele. not pulling like it normally does.

Its got new plugs, leads, sender, dizzy cap and arm.

I only want it to last another couple of months ffs lol

does the idle stay high all the time or does it hunt around? My mates valver had this problem and thought it was the ISCV (normally the first culprit) but it was the wires connected to it that were fucked, so was a 10 minute fix in the end to cut and rejoin it all.

Spray some Brake Cleaner or WkD40 on the manifold while it is running and see if the revs increase slightly!!

If they do you have a small hole in your manifold gasket there matey arr (said in a pirate type voice) :D

Yea its picky with it. It starts up fine and runs at 1100. After driving it goes from 1700 to 2200 randomly then drops again to 1700. very confusing. Wires are fine attached to the iscv. The engines never been apart so i doubt its a hole in the manifold gasket. Ill check later though.
