Been waiting a good while for a kangoo to come up for sale, this one had my name on it. It will be my daily and once it's in service I will put a post up about future plans with it.
At the moment though, were not off the ground yet.
I've fitted a new engine (block, head, injection pump)
The vans original ecu, injectors, auxilleries, crank sensor all used on it.
Tonight I plugged the van into launch diagnostic to recode and reset injectors as it has only ran on easy start for a second or so despite there being fuel at the injector unions. However when it was plugged it it was giving me nothing.
It asked me to enter the vin. Numerous times, couldn't get into injectors, couldn't get it to give me anything at all without going in through EOBD and then I was getting no signal from most things, I did get a rpm signal using live data logs, the ecu is getting 8.5v, the immobiliser is coming up as inactive but not present.
After an hour or so with my mate who's launch tool it is we decided it was looking like the ECU is fried and not giving out any concise signals to sensors or relays despite getting a live. (Not sure if that should be 12v or if 8.5v is normal)
So what I need to know is, what is coded together in the kangoo/dci immob system?
Is it just ecu and transponder?
Or are the clocks/BCM (if these have one) coded also?
Injectors can be coded after so those are not an issue.
And when taking this stuff potentially from a donor van, will any Dci65 kit work?
Are the only differences the bhp of the engine, different kits for 65, 80, 100 to match turbo/injectors
Or are there three different potential kits for the 65 for example?
The van is a 57 plate, 1.5dci 65bhp (I think)
Starter on the front of the block
Any help or insight appreciated.
I've had it two weeks now and it's not running. And that is starting to annoy me! Haha
