Headlamps

I was recently reading through a detailing process to correct the rough peeling on the MK 2 headlamps. An involved task using sand paper and scratch remover polishes.

I replaced one headlamp because it had become a bit tatty looking, but now I'm wondering if it might be cheaper to have a go at this clean up method.

One thing which does concern me is this may be some sort of film covering the headlamp which is breaking up? Is this detailing/sanding actually scrubbing off something important?

I was going to do the same James but more reading in to it once you use wet and dry you lose the UV protection on the plastic lens and will turn yellow with the sun light

Did mine on the Trophy 6 months ago, wet n dry from 300 down to 1500 and then hand buffed with TCut and Autosol and came up like new and still like new with no yellowing so far.
