How much can safely be skimmed off a standard valver head to raise the compression ratio slightly?

I Possibly wanna upgrade the cams at some point and I know this can effect it.

Thanks for all help

iv been tolds 30thour but worth phonin or contactin apd and askin. they know there stuff.

Depends on how much its had skimmed off it already tbh, theres a half moon shape indentation on the face of the head, when thats gone its pretty much time to get a headsaver which im not sure if you can get for these engines or a new head

I was able to get a new head from a dealer for almost £200 notes and that was for a then 13 year old car

A usable gain in CR wont be attained by any reasonable amount removed from the head.

I have done heads with cams on stock blocks with 1mm+ removed, but you HAVE to run verniers and check piston/valve clearance......and thats only because the series would only allow a stock block. I wouldn't bother on a road car. Skim so its flat and run a thinner gasket. Static CR are very misleading and have quite nominal effects on the torque curve for even a mildly modified engine.

Nay problemo! This engine will only be temp if plans go to........erm.......well plan haha
