Has anybody taken an Ice Driving course or actually driven on ice?

Didn’t Martin aka Kiano take his vee on a skid track of sorts many years back. Day I bought my first one I had to drive it home in deep snow. Was actually pretty good to be fair.

Ice racing was / maybe still is very popular in Scandiavia. I was sent a load of photos for my Lotus Cortina website, and these two probably give a good impression of what it was about. That's Trond Schea, one of the great early Scandinavian rally drivers, changing the wheel on his Lotus Cortina....very carefully!

I was on a ski holiday in Alps d’Huez in 2011 and there was a very large ‘test track’ for ice driving. I was delighted to get the opportunity to have a whirl... but it was aimed at L-plate lessons for alpine conditions and was pretty boring!

Some factoids with regards to the Vee being driven on ice:

One Laurent Fouquet campaigned a Clio V6 at the 2002 Andros Trophy, Ice Racing Series International
Duncan or GPH do you have any further information on this?

[v6plaque]002[/v6plaque] has also been on ice, during its time as a press car (around halfway down the page), and used during the launch of the Phase 2 Vee, when it took part in the Ice Driving press events (at Alp D'Huez and another in Switzerland) driven by ex-F1 driver Patrick Tambay, who was an instructor for Renault UK at these events.

Lankan, it was a rallycross space frame special. No idea if it even started life as a genuine v6 of any sort. Possibly not. It had a Bi Turbo 3 litre (Nissan I believe) engine in it. You can see the rear clam shell in one of the above photos.

Thanks Duncan.

I was a bit surprised when I first came across that list as there was no other info or photographs except for the list of entrants.
