Halfords Socket Set Cheap as Chips

thats a good deal. Halfords stuff in the pro range is pretty good.

The only problem with halfords sets is that you get a load of useless crap (SAE sockets) imo.

sockets are pretty decent, got some ive had for years, as chris says pro range is best if ur using them alot. but i found the ratchets wer wank. i bought one, not the one with the plastic body- but the metal body one. not the best, lasted maybe a year before i got trouble with the ratchet slippin and not engaging properly.

You can get rebuild kits cheap though, I've done my 3/8" once and the 1/2" one needs doing.

I do put pipes on them and use them as breaker bars, hit them with hammers and stuff though so can't complain.

Thing to remember is from new, remove the 2 little screws that hold the ratchet assembly in, use a bit of threadlock on em and put em back in nice and tight. Otherwise they loosen off.
