Gears on my 2001 v6

Just got my clio but the gear 1 3 6 are very close to the front can it be moved back. Thanks :?

Only if you you the MK2 selector mechanism on the gearbox

As Mike says, Mk2 selector has shorter throw. V6Max had the whole unit moved back on his Mk1 track car but it might need new cables to do that.

Mine was moved back without new cables but it was really only possible because there is no interior so there was no need to worry about the centre console (i.e. trying to move that back as well).
