fuel pump relay/fuse compression test

R

r21essex

Hi all,

Anyone no where the fuel pump relay or fuse is?? Need to do a compression test but dont want any fuel going in and flood it!!

Also does the engine need to be warm or cold to do a compression test. I was told cold from a reliable source but the compression test kit i just brought says from warm.

Any ideas??

James

run the car up to temp, remove the king lead and if you really don't want a bit of fuel in the cylinders just unplug the injectors. It only takes 4-5 revolutions to test each cylinder,so it wont take long.

cheers andy when you say the king lead i take it you mean the power leads to the coil packs?? cheers andy i wasnt sure if it had to be warm or cold.

Hi there, the fuel pump relay is under the ecu, it has it's own water tight compartment - i found it eventually...!!:shoot:

Don't worry about flooding it, its EFI.

Just disable the spark by unplugging any one of about ten things and spin it on the key when its warm.
