Front discs

The spigots fit into the INTERNAL bore of the hub, which is different. The external diameter is the same so people fitting phs2 wheels wont have an issue.

In the kit i supply spigot extenders for the wheels to locate on when fitting which simply tap into the bores using an interference fit (rust and dirt will have to be cleaned out. However the wheel stud kit that is supplied does the same job so they are not 100% essential.

Good stuff Ben :approve:

Ah right the internal bore is different between Mk1 & Mk2 - makes sense ...

When I had my spigot extenders machined for my GT4 I measured a small difference of a few thou (can't remember the exact figure) between the nearside and offside internal spigot bore diameters - I had to assume the tolerances must not be so important on this surface ... One spigot extender was looser when fitted as a result - it still located the wheel centrally though ... Even so I deviced a method to essentially 'locate' them soldily into the hub ... Hopefully the Vee tolerances will be more consitant but perhaps is not such an issue as they won't drop out etc.

I agree to some extent that spigot extenders are not regarded as necessary but I guess we both feel more comfortable with them to locate the wheel and remove any risk of shear forces breaking the studs should any wheel nuts work loose or not be torqued correctly ...

Front hubs are different on phase 1 and 2 see pictures

The change over on the Laguna seems to of happenned later where these items were sorced for Clio V6's.
the change was late 2005 so if you are buying replacement hubs from the scrappy,
Phase 1 upto 2004 should be ok for phase 2 go for 2006 on to be safe.

This show the extra castings on a Phase 2 hub fopr the brake dust mounts, used on some lagunas

this shows the extra bracing around the back of the hub around the wheel bearing and the different wheel mounting flange, phase 2 is thicker

Cheers

So I'm looking at front discs for a Pug 407 coupe.

Part No: D1275
EBC Standard Brake Discs (Pair)

Solid or Vented : V :approve:
No of Holes/Bolts : 5 :approve:
Diameter (mm) : 330 :approve:
Thickness New/Min (mm) : 30/28 :approve:
Height (mm) : 48 ?

Would these fit our Vees?
What is the Height of our front discs?

No they don´t fit.
I also found the discs last year and tried out in spring

The center hole is larger and the disk in the overall height slightly less. Therefore, the brake caliper is no longer on position. Also adjusts the position of the abs sensors no longer, because the abs sensor is fixed with the caliper (last picture).
The weight of one discs are also over 4kg more than the orininal dicsc

Good input Jens, but those issues are fairly easily resolved ... although the weight is quite a lot more - which seems to be due to the friction surface thicknesses and smaller cooling gap between them ...

How much were the disks out of interest ?
