Front discs

I'm already working on the v6 fronts and rears, give me a little time and hopefully an off the shelf, plain, simple and cheap solution should be ready.

No PCD issues, although offset might be increased a few mm, so front track will be increased, but not by a large amount, not that it will be detrimental to handling anyway.

Sorry to push this again, but I'm trying to budget for next month. I think I need new front discs (ideally before March). Will the GB be organized before the end of Feb?

Sorry for my impatience - just trying to balance the books :)

"a little time" is a loose term!

Why would the track be increased?!

Thicker discs pushing the wheels out???

I tried asking the "experts" on reno sport about why the discs and pads were soo expensive, after a few phone calls and promised replies I was in Scottish terms "Dingied".

This is because the disks have a very slighty bigger offset. They will need shimming out for the rotor to sit correctly in the caliper which inturn moves the face of them out slightly. Suits me fine as it'll make the "over arched" Ph1 look much better.

So who have you been looking/speaking with to?

That would be me! I'll try and get some definitive prices for Peter tomorrow afternoon if possible.

It is possible to build a spacer into the bells as a custom order.

Bretts got it right.

I'm aiming for collection this week.

I'm gunna have a gander at these discs first as they are MUCH cheaper than anything else I've seen being offered for the vee. However the group buy is a cracking deal for whats being offered :approve:

Pop over brett,

They bolt straight onto the hubs and will only require a small spacer behind, 7.5mm for the fronts and 11mm for the rears, so a useful increase in track.

And the saving will be huge I think, I'd excpect a full set all round to cost as little as £300.

bump for updates on mk 1 and mk 2 discs

Items are on a phs1 being tested, there have been a lot of changes from the original design, but they fit well now.

Wheels are spaced out 10mm rear and 7mm front, per side, so fill out the arches more.

Kits will include the behind disc adaptor/spacers, front and rear discs and a new set of wheel studs/nuts as the original items are not long enough.

The full kit price for one off orders will be in the region of £500, however one the initial cost is passed, replacement discs will thereafter cost about £200-230 for a set, depending where you buy and what quality. The cost is an estimate at the moment as I am switching manufacturing methods to cut time and cost.

Discs are Bosch fronts adn delphi rears, so not cheap items. However, these are certainly NOT racing components, they are a road/trackday usable setup so expect what you would from OEM dsics.

For the phs2's i'm having to change a few things as the spigot bores on them is slightly larger.

HI Ben,

Given these spacers are behind the disc (I think) would I be right in saying those of us MK 2 owners with trophy wheels couldn't use these? We have 15mm spacers on the front, the rears already sit proud of the arches.

i would say your out of luck in that case.

Unless you run half size spacers on the front, then you could use the adaptors.

For the rears, if they are already proud without any spacers then its a bit more difficult to sort.

Hmmm interesting about the spigot bores Ben ... Does that mean those Mk1 owners fitting Mk2 wheels are not getting an interference fit on the spigots ? Are we talking fractions of a mm or mm's ?

Also with the disks spaced out, as proposed, will the spigot extend sufficiently into the wheels spigot ring to provide adequate location ? I understand full engagment of the spigot is not essential for safety once the wheel is clamped but is preferable for wheel centring and balance ...
