How were the Trophy cars numbered?

not sure on how, guess they must be sales or factory build number, theres a big plaque on the dash of each one.

This ones going up for auction on the 24th this month in Buxton: LINK

Estimate: (£) 16,000 - 20,000

Shame about the smoothed bodywork, but someone could get a bargain.

Totaly by chance I got to drive this car today! It was entered at a local sprint by a collecter who also has a Mclaren M1c can am car!

The car is entered in the Birkett 6 hour relay race at Silverstone on October 27th as part of the HCAAC team.
Only drove a short distance on the airfield but felt like a more powerful version of the Spider.
Obviously the car has some strange features with the smoothed off panel joins and it seemed to have normal bonded in glass rear side windows as well. Chassis plate is 041 while the race number on the ecu is for number 54.
Wondering if anyone here knows any further information on this car as it may come up for sale again after the Birkett.

Thats really cool you got a drive in it!

The car raced inthe Spanish Renault race cup during the early 2000's, then it was restored and storaged. (It was probably at this stage where they did the blending of the panels). It was also Rebuilt to 315bhp, used for a 15kms only then put for for sale for a few years ago in Spain for €26,000 Euro, with a number 16 on it (just to confuse you more). After a few years it then appeared for sale in Ireland, then a few months later again in Scotland where it was being advertised as a chassis only with the wheels, engine and gearbox advertise seperately. Then it disapeared for a few months and turned up with all the orange bits at a traders in England (think it was manchester area?).

thanks for the info Duncan. Biggest issue with this car is the lack of any spares, even wheels, not sure how he is going to race it with just one set.
